Hitachi- from the country that brought the world Fukushima
We feel very sad for the people of Japan who want to end nuclear energy whilst a potential new government and big business are desperate for it

No Fukushima at Oldbury

No to Fukushima at Shepperdine!

Latest News From Barry Turner Chairman of The Oldbury Parish Council

Sorry for the delay in replying but my internet connection has been down since the New Year but I am now thanks to BT back on line .

To answer your question :-
We have returned a reponse to the question raised by the Infrastructure Planning Commission . I will send you a copy

We are now waiting to see what Planning Aid tell us next Wednesday evening because although I think I have a pretty good idea of how our response to the Draft Nuclear Policy Statement should look there is obviously some merit in getting further advice.

After that we will have the opportunity to attend the DECC exhibition and ask further questions of the people there (I have a few) ., then on the 6th February there will be the public meeting at Turnberries .
Once that is over the Parish Council will prepare the draft response followed by a Council Meeting (with public forum)on the 17th Feb at which I hope we will get further input or agreement that the document we have drafted is ok , we then have to get the final document to DECC by the 22nd February.
Have you read the Consultation Document ? if you have you will see that there are 11 questions and an opportunity to make a few points , this is how it is structured and how we will approach it . Of course any individual has the right to respond as an individual and I hope that as many people as possible will do that .
If you have any further questions please shout , the meeting on the 17th will be advertised in Feb 4WARD by the way

All the best

Barry
