Hitachi- from the country that brought the world Fukushima
We feel very sad for the people of Japan who want to end nuclear energy whilst a potential new government and big business are desperate for it

No Fukushima at Oldbury

Anti-nuclear campaigners want singer

ANTI-nuclear campaigners are hoping to get support from singersongwriter Jackson Browne, pictured, for their opposition to a new atomic plant near Bristol.
Members of Shepperdine Against Nuclear Energy (Sane) have approached Browne's managers ahead of a concert he is giving at the Colston Hall next month.
The musician helped set up NukeFree.org as a grassroots campaign and website in 2007 to stop the building of further nuclear reactors in the United States and to close down those already operating. It also supports renewable and efficient energy.
Browne will be playing in Bristol on Thursday, June 3, and Sane hopes to be able to speak with him and outline their fight against proposals to build new reactors on land next to the existing Oldbury power station, near Thornbury.
Spokesman Reg Illingworth said: "A number of members from Sane will be going to see Jackson and will hopefully get the opportunity to discuss the revived nuclear industry. We are talking to someone at Jackson's management team."
NukeFree.org was originally formed by Browne and fellow musicians Bonnie Raitt and Graham Nash, along with energy activists and colleagues Harvey Wasserman and Tom Campbell, to oppose billions of dollars of loan guarantees for the building of new atomic reactors.
It was successful in its efforts and is still working to prevent new reactors being built.
Sane was set up by people living near the site of one of 10 potential new-generation atomic plants around the UK.
They want the land removed from the list drawn up by the Government, claiming it is unsuitable for such a massive project.
They fear it will have a huge impact on a sensitive area, could lead to health problems for people living nearby and will be a massive blot on the landscape.
